'the FILM' took over 2 years of inconsistent work to finish. Starting in February 2009, when I first approached
Lawrence Edmonds to take on 'a role', the story and concept constantly changed resulting in the FILM being divided into 3 parts. Each part relates to a specific day (between February 2009 & February 2010) in which Lawrence Edmonds and I met and each time the idea for the FILM changed and he was constantly given different restraints and methods in which, without much guidance, he had to create a character. All this meant that although Lawrence Edmonds had an understanding of the 'story' he was never able to grasp the entirety, probably because it didn't exist, and therefore the character he played was always immediate, non-premeditated and reliant only on basic facts he was given.
In an attempt to keep the editing and style relevant to the concept at the time each part is edited soon after each meeting with Lawrence Edmonds. Although the final edit infringed slightly on this ideal there is an attempt in general to not force the desire for a final piece onto the process of making the FILM. This is a further reason for the lack of direction in the character but also for the multiple cameras and free-rein given to those filming in the 3rd part as well as almost enforcing a very specific soundtrack onto the FILM.
the FILM is made on a variety of formats from HD to the video function on hand held cameras, and using a range of audio recording devices and found sound clips.
